Music promotion giant Live Nation has been slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly reproducing a photgraph of [lastfm link_type=""]Pete Townshend [/lastfm]of The [lastfm link_type=""]Who[/lastfm] without permission. Rock photographer Ross Halfin claims that the firm never obtained right to the photo before reprinting it on a variety of merchandise. Halfin filed the suit in a Manhattan court earlier this month and says that Live Nation used a well-known photo of Townshend on lighters, posters and “even a blanket.” In the court filing, Halfin says Live Nation “grossly misappropriated” the image. Halfin captured the image in 1978 during [lastfm link_type=""]The Who’s [/lastfm]final performance with original drummer [lastfm link_type=""]Keith Moon[/lastfm].
