Jacksonsville southern-ro0ts rockers, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]38 Special[/lastfm] have released a new concert album titled Live From Texas on August 31st. 38 Special founder and singer-guitarist Don Barnes says, “The plan was to make it sound like you’re right there in front of the band with the audience all around you, a sense of being there… Those crowds out in Texas were massive, and all of the classic songs deserved a chance to shine in an enhanced live fashion.”
The album includes “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You” and “Hold on Loosely.” It also features a surprise appearance by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lynyrd Skynyrd[/lastfm] singer Johnny Van Zant, the younger brother of Donnie Van Zant, on the only live version of their Van Zant country hit “Help Somebody.”
The album is now available in stores.
38 Special was formed in 1974 by Barnes and Donnie Van Zant. They have released 12 studio albums including three that were certified Platinum.
