[photogallerylink id=53704 align=left] [mp3com-artist]Bon Jovi [/mp3com-artist] started in 1983 out of a demo of “Runaway” that Jon Bon Jovi recorded with studio musicians. The song was added to the line-up of one of New Yorks radio stations and started to get airplay on other sister stations in other states.

Jon quickly put together a band and they started playing shows in the area. The group got signed to Mercury Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1984. This album had much success and was certified Gold. Their second album 78000 Fahrenheit also went Gold but did not have the same success commercially.

The group’s third album Slippery When Wet really put the group on the map. This album sold over 28 million copies worldwide and helped them win VMA’s and American Music Awards. The group continued to have success with their next album New Jersey but after this album the group went their separate ways and each recorded solo albums.

The band got back together to record  Keep The Faith in 1992 and released two more successful albums until 1997 when the group decided to take a break. In 2000, the group returned with Crush. The albums single “It’s My Life” put the group back on the charts. Since then the group has released six more albums.

The band was recently on tour earlier this summer and celebrated the 25th anniversary of the release of Slippery When Wet.
