Part one of Living in the Material World is the new [mp3com-artist]George Harrison[/mp3com-artist] documentary by Martin Scorsese premieres tonight at 9pm on HBO.
The story of George Harrison is mostly told by others. His son Dhani who reads excerpts from his father’s journal. [mp3com-artist]Paul McCartney[/mp3com-artist], [mp3com-artist]Ringo Starr[/mp3com-artist], [mp3com-artist]Eric Clapton[/mp3com-artist], George Martin and [mp3com-artist]Yoko Ono [/mp3com-artist]provide their stories of George. It is just over 90 minutes and concentrates on select highlights from Harrison’s days in [mp3com-artist]The Beatles[/mp3com-artist].
Part one ends with the recording of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” from The White Album. Part two, which clocks in at just under two hours, airs tomorrow night at 9 ET.
Scorsese has directed other music documentaries including the Last Waltz and No Direction Home: Bob Dylan.
