Today in Pink Floyd History? There’s An App For That
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Pink Floyd[/lastfm] fans who own the iPhone and iPad have a new companion for their favorite prog-rock band. This Day in Music Apps announced their latest music trivia app this week, geared entirely toward Roger Waters, David Gilmour & Co. and their vast, vivid history.
The company describes the app, which hits the iTunes app store on Monday, November 14, simply as “the ultimate accompaniment to the ultimate band.” It will include 366 days of trivia based on each current day of the year, plus over 100 photos, 200 trivia questions, and a free “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” ringtone. Many of these can be previewed with the official screengrabs the company provided.
Users will also be treated to a detailed guide to each studio track Pink Floyd ever released – 167 by their count.
And, in case you don’t already own their entire catalog, the app will let you know what music you’re missing from your library in addition to play the songs you already have.
Unfortunately for owners of anything other than the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, the app is only available for Apple users at this time. But perhaps This Day in Music Apps is already working toward making their apps available for users of any smartphone platform.
Do you have an Apple device? And if so will you be downloading This Day in Pink Floyd from the App Store?
