On February 10th, 1956, Elvis Presley would record his first number one pop record and his first million copy seller, “Heartbreak Hotel”. Written by Mae Boren Axton, it tells the story about the suicide of a lonely man who jumped from a hotel window. The song features Chet Atkins on guitar and Floyd Cramer on piano.
