Gotta love Facebook if for no other reason than friends bringing up some really great memories from your past. A friend posted this, how can you forget that jingle
This will always and forever be associated with the movie theater at Southgate where my brother and I went with our mom to see everything from Benji to Young Doctors in Love. It was Purple Rain and Sixteen Candles in high school. Then the bigger, cooler megaplexes started to open, and sadly most of us abandoned Southgate and Mapletown and the other, smaller movie theaters that used to dot northeast Ohio. Ahh, if we only knew then what we know now.
But to hear that little jingle makes me smile and think of those simpler days when one screen on a Saturday afternoon was the biggest treat you could ever imagine.
