Ringo Starr In Studio Working On Next Album, Prepares For All-Starr Tour

With the days of drumming for The Beatles long behind him, Ringo Starr’s new interest over the past twenty years has been solo work and forming “All Star Bands” to tour with.

Starr has announced the dates and members of his 13th All Star Band, which will kick off in Niagara Falls on June 14th.  This tour will feature Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie (Santana), Steve Lukather (Toto), Richard Page (Mr. Mister) alongside saxophonist Mark Rivera and drummer Gregg Bissonette. The tour will be to support Starr’s latest studio album, Ringo 2012.

According to Starr’s official website, The tour is being produced by Dave Hart and fans can expect to hear a jukebox worth of hits. Ringo classic’s such as “It Don’t Come Easy”, “Photograph”, “Little Help From My Friends”, “Yellow Submarine” and “Wings”.

Ringo 2012 was Starr’s 16th studio album released in January of 2012. The album debuted at #80 in the US, and sold 6,348 copies. According to Rolling Stone, this album was a classic from Starr, showing that he stays consistent to his roots.

It has only been about 5 months since the release of Ringo 2012, and Starr already has a video update on his website expressing that he’s back in the studio working on new ideas for an upcoming album, and practicing for his upcoming tour.
