Just days after Mentor Police arrested James Richardson for cooking meth inside the Mentor Wal-Mart, three men from New York are arrested for creating Ecstasy-laced gummy bears.
Early Tuesday morning, police spotted a car speeding down Mentor Avenue. After the car had been pulled over, police suspected that driver Eric Kenny was under the influence of alcohol. Upon searching the vehicle officers discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia and items used in the manufacturing of drugs. One such manufacturing item found was a mold to make gummy bears.
Mentor Sgt. Dustin Richards says that police arrested Kenny as well as his passengers Arkady Koroshihk and Michal Nemcok for suspicion of using the drugs to make the hallucinogenic candies.
The three men are facing felony drug charges and appeared in Mentor Municipal Court on Wednesday for their first hearing on the charges.
Sgt. Richards says as of yesterday that none of the men had posted bond and still remain housed in the Lake County Jail.
