One of the great blues-rock guitarists of all time, the late Gary Moore took time back in 2007 to pay tribute to one of his personal guitar heroes. Now Eagle Rock Entertainment is making Moore’s concert of Jimi Hendrix songs available to the public.

Entitled Blues For Jimi, the set was recorded live at the London Hippodrome on October 25, 2007. Along with bandmates Dave Bronze (bass) and Darrin Mooney (drums), Moore unleashed his own unique style on a dozen Hendrix tracks, from the opening cut, “Purple Haze,” to his own unique version of “Voodoo Child (Slight Return).”

Highlighting the 12-song set are three tracks that feature former Jimi Hendrix bandmates:  bassist Billy Cox from The Band Of Gypsys (and a one-time Experience member) and the late Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell. The duo play on a trio of cuts, “Red House,” “Stone Free” and “Hey Joe” (the latter two of which also feature Cox on vocals).

The set will be available on CD, DVD and Blu Ray on September 25th.
