MENTOR, Ohio — A Willoughby man was arrested for entering a bar after-hours, making himself a drink and then later attempting to clog his cell toilet.
According to Lt. Ken Zbiegien of the Mentor Police Department, officers responded to an alarm at the Hooley House on Reynolds Road around 4:30 a.m. on July 29. There they found Angelo Vitolo, 23, making himself a drink “because he was thirsty.” His beverage of choice was Jack Daniels and Coke complete with a cherry.
The cost of the drink during normal business hours would have been about $7 – That drink will instead be costing him a lot more. Zbiegien said Vitolo tried to convince officers he worked at the bar but police confirmed that was incorrect. Vitolo was taken to jail and was charged with two felonies.
Zbiegien confirmed Vitolo, once in jail, also tried to clog his cell’s toilet with a blanket.
