HAMILTON, Ohio - It’s not often police are called to arrest someone for trying to break INTO jail.
On Sunday, Butler County sheriff’s deputies responded to the perimeter of Butler County Jail in southwest Ohio at about 7:30 a.m. and found Tiffany R. Hurd, 36, attempting to climb over the barbed-wire fence. The jail staff advised the woman to leave the premises — to which she responded, “I want to be arrested,” according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Hurd was intoxicated and had a backpack with her. The woman allegedly refused multiple orders to leave the property and attempted to climb the fence in front of the deputies, who then arrested her on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. This was the first recorded attempt of someone trying to break into Butler County Jail and showed that if you want to get into jail bad enough, your wish will be granted.
