Gene Simmons Family Jewels is no more. After more than 160 episodes over 7 years, the A&E reality show about Simmons’ family has been laid to rest. Simmons released a statement that says, “With KISS on tour and with my other business commitments, we have decided to draw the final curtain on our show. It has been a wonderful, life-altering experience for our family, and after seven successful seasons, we feel it’s time to move on. This is not the end of our story, it’s the beginning of a new chapter.”
“We could not be more proud of the unparalleled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” A&E network executives said in a statement. “On behalf of everyone at A&E, we’d like to thank the production team at Thinkfactory Media, Gene and his amazing family for their partnership, collaboration and for opening up their lives, warts-and-all, to us throughout the years.”
Since it premiered in 2006, the show revealed longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed dealing with Gene’s infidelity, their separation, reconciliation and marriage, his numerous business ventures and plastic surgery. The couple’s children grew into adults during the tenure of the show.
Simmons and the rest of KISS will be performing at Blossom Music Center on Wednesday September 12 with feature act Motley Crue. Tickets are available HERE.
