Meet The Akron Zig Zags

This is some shocking news if you’re a fan of the Zips huh? Had what an 18 game winning streak. Basketball team made it into the top 25 college rankings. Now the team’s starting point guard, Alex Abreu…well let’s just say he’s got big trouble ahead.

In a release, The Akron Police Department says, the Anti-Violence Bureau Narcotics Unit arrested the 21-year old Alexander Abreu and 18-year old Austin L. Durgala for trafficking in marijuana and possession of marijuana.

Detectives the seized over 5 pounds of marijuana at Durgala’s residence on East Dartmore Street in Akron. Abreu and Durgala were booked into the Summit County Jail.

92.3 The Fan reports that Abreu has been suspended following drug trafficking charges. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Abreu was released on $5000 bond.

Akron will host its rival, Kent State, on Friday night in their final regular-season game.
