Beatles, U2, Bob Dylan Featured On Philippines Relief Compilation Album

In past years, we have found that following tragedy, one thing that can bring people together is music – The 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief, Hope for Haiti, etc.

On November 8, Typhoon Haiyan ripped through the Philippines, and according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, more than 4,000 people died and 4.4 million people were displaced.

Songs for the Philippines is a compilation album dedicated to the victims of the typhoon, featuring Bob Dylan’s “Shelter From the Storm,” U2’s “In A Little While,” Red Hot Chili Peppers “Factory of Faith” and The Beatles “Let It Be” and “Across the Universe.”

Songs for the Philippines was put together by Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group with all proceeds being donated to the Philippines Red Cross. The album is available on iTunes for $9.99.

Recently, Journey donated $350,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help provide food assistance for those affected by the disaster.
