Guns N’ Roses lead singer Axl Rose has been named today’s top artist with the largest vocal range, sliding right past pop artists like Mariah Carey and Prince and besting classic rocker Steven Tyler.

Results showing Axl’s vocal range starting at F1 in “There Was A Time”, extending all the way up to B flat 6 in “Ain’t It Fun”. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Axl is the “greatest singer” of all time, just that he can sing at a lower octave than Steven Tyler in the song ‘St. John’.

You can also attribute some of that credit to having a great band to back you up.
