This year we’ve been looking back on 50 classic albums that were released 30 years ago in 1985. Paula Balish paged through our choices for the top 50 albums that have turned 30 this year and picked one of her favorites.
On the day that Stevie Ray Vaughan died, I cried, and I couldn’t stop crying for weeks. It was such a tragic loss. This man, whose talent affected me like no one before or since, is gone, and he only left us with 5 albums.
Soul to Soul has my two favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan songs on it.
“Ain’t Gone ‘n’ Give Up On Love” and “Life Without You”, plus it’s the first album to include Reese Wynans on keyboards.
Soul to Soul may not be Stevie and Double Trouble’s best album, but out of the 50 albums turning 30 years-old this year, it’s the only one I will pick.
