Audio: Slats Interviews Little Steven Van Zandt

Before The BossĀ and company took to the stage at the Q for The River Tour, WNCX’s own morning guy Slats got to sit down backstage with Little Steven Van Zandt.

Host of Little Steven’s Underground Garage, airing Sunday nights at 10pm here on WNCX, Van Zandt is a long time member of the E Street Band.

“You never know,” Little Steven said, “I hope so that would be nice, wouldn’t it?”

We know that Bruce has an autobiography set to come out in September – but what about a new album? According to Little Steven, Bruce “does have a solo record done.”

“He always has a record in his pocket,” Steven continued, “he’s very annoying that way, for those of us who take forever to write a song. He always has something.”

As far as Little Steven’s other projects, he was excited to talk about his recent record collaboration with Rock Hall Inductee Darlene Love, who he considers to be “the greatest singer in the world.”

“It’s probably the best work I’ve ever done,” he said of producing the record. “Everything I know after 40 years in the studio is in this record.”
