Way back when, in 1974, when I got the crazy idea to start a band, the first guy I recruited was a singer/songwriter by the name of Jonah Koslen who was recommended to me by our mutual friend David Spero. Jonah had grown up in Beachwood but, by the time that we crossed paths, was living in Colorado and had the mountain-man beard to prove it! We spent a few days playing music and checking each other out and then decided to give it a try.
So Jonah was the first member of the original MSB and brought some great singing, playing and songwriting to the party. He was with us for the first three albums (“You Break It You Bought It”, “Ladies’ Choice” and “Stagepass”) and a number of his tunes are still among the fan’s favorites in the MSB songbook. After leaving MSB he went on to start Breathless, who put out two really good (but unfortunately overlooked ) albums, and then on to Jonah Koslen & The Heroes. Since then he ventured into the world of “island music” and has for the most part performed as a solo act.
But now I’m happy to say he’s returned to his rock n’ roll roots with a new 12-song outing entitled “Nusic” and it’s definitely worth your time to check it out. You can find the new album at jonahkoslen.com, Itunes, Amazon and Google. Check, my man out…he’s back and he knows how to rock!
