Fleetwood Mac Marks 50 Years On Stage

In their first live show 50 years ago this Sunday at the National Jazz and Blues Festival Fleetwood Mac was missing the Mac. Bassist John McVie played with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Christine Perfect, John’s future wife was on the bill also, but as a member of Chicken Shack. Peter Green led them on stage and the name has lived on.

Notice that it’s a “Jazz and Blues Festival”. That was the scene from which rock bands emerged.
