Formed in 1974 by Michael Stanley, guitarist Jonah Koslen, drummer Tommy Dobeck of Circus, and former Glass Harp bassist Daniel Pecchio, the band would make it’s live concert debut on September 2, 1974 at the Cleveland Agora. Later that year, they would be headed to Miami to record their first full length album with Epic Records – 1975’s You Break It…You Bought It.

Popularity would continue for the next decade thanks to a Top 40 hit and early MTV video (the 47th ever) for “He Can’t Love You,” an appearance on “American Bandstand,” and multiple charting albums like Cabin Fever, Heartland, North Coast and You Can’t Fight Fashion.

MSB would go on to set several attendance records at Cleveland area venues including a record 20,320 at the Richfield Coliseum on July 20, 1979 and a record 40,529 for two Coliseum concerts on December 31, 1981 and January 1, 1982. A  four-night stand, running August 25, 26, 30 and 31, 1982, at Blossom Music Center earned a total attendance of 74,404.

In 1986, the group disbanded. Members still perform together in Michael Stanley & The Resonators.
